A Poet is Who I Am

A Poet is Who I Am
- April 16, 2017

I've been taught to pronounce my name
And that will I do without any shame
I've been given minstrel's ring
And with it must I sing
I have seen evils in this world
And I can't tell
How many lies the mouth can speak
Yet will I not sit calm
For a poet is who I am
Though a silent observer of time
Yet a chronicler of its passing
